A Broke In Book

Thank you God.

This may seem so silly, but as I was unpacking my big bible, taking out the added bookmarks and loose papers to get ready to take it in for my second prison ministry trip, I couldn't help but notice how broke in, soft, even a little flimsy, and used it looked and felt.

There was a time in my life when that book would have looked brand new after 4 years of owning it.

But not now.

This book has been to hell and back.

This book has fought some crazy spiritual battles.

This book has shielded me from the arrows of the enemy.

This book has equipped me for life and for love.

This book has healed me.

This book has corrected me.

Most importantly, the author of this book has loved me through some of the messiest moments of my life these last four years.

Friends, when I held this book out of the cover and felt the weight of it's flimsy body, it touched the core of my heart and soul.

I felt power come from it.

I felt a few more chains fall off.

I felt the weight of what fours years walking with Jesus felt like.

Man I can't hardly wrap my mind around how much God loves us. But He does and it's life changing.

Thank you God, for walking me through each and every valley that softened this book.

Thank you for getting me to each and every mountain top where this book no doubt spoke through me.

I am feeling a little proud moment and I know, as your daughter, you are proud too.

This flimsy, soft, broke in book is a reflection of the relationship we formed over the last four years.

Thank you for not giving up on me when I wanted to quit on you. You are faithful even when I am unfaithful.

God equip me and prepare my heart and spirit to hear your voice on Saturday at the prison. I sit here, and move there, expectantly. I know you....so I know you have something exciting in store there. Send me your sheep...I'm ready to feed them your bread of life.

John 21:15
