I started 1 Timothy yesterday and I'm only on Chapter 1 verse 11, but this book is so full of great knowledge. Here is a passage about "false teachers" that really stuck out to me, as well as the notes. I encourage you to reflect on the notes highlighted in pink, blue, and green.
How often in church or life do we sit and have conversations about religion or politics, doom and gloom rather than who Jesus is and what He offers to us....freedom, love, and grace. I'm guilty of falling into these conversations and I have sure heard a lot of others conversating. But this is a heart check from God.
I absolutely hate when conversations turn to doom and gloom...we get it, the world is bad...it tells us that in the bible. It's time to start focusing on the promises of Jesus Christ rather than how the world is. The world is death, but Jesus is life. That's what the world needs more of...the life & love of Jesus. Once you have Jesus in your heart and you seek Him and seek relationship with Him, He transforms everything else. He works from the heart out, but if we fill our conversations with doom, gloom, griping, and complaining rather than Jesus' love and what he's done for us, how do we expect anyone to want Jesus? Jesus Christ is transformational.
We know the world is going to get worse....Jesus warned us about this. Our time is limited and his lambs are lost and looking for a savior. Let's feed his lambs nourishment, not poison.

1 Timothy 1:3-7 NLT
[3] When I left for Macedonia, I urged you to stay there in Ephesus and stop those whose teaching is contrary to the truth. [4] Don’t let them waste their time in endless discussion of myths and spiritual pedigrees. These things only lead to meaningless speculations, which don’t help people live a life of faith in God. [5] The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith. [6] But some people have missed this whole point. They have turned away from these things and spend their time in meaningless discussions. [7] They want to be known as teachers of the law of Moses, but they don’t know what they are talking about, even though they speak so confidently.
