In The Father's Arms

I heard this song on The Message this morning in my car on my way to the coffee shop. It literally stopped me in my tracks, cut to the very core of my soul, and was just an amazing moment where God stepped in and wrapped his huge arms around me so tight.

It wasn't something I was looking for this morning or even something I thought I needed until that moment. Yet, there I was, in the middle of my Father's arms, safe, loved, accepted, and wanted.

If there could be a song about my walk with him, this one would definitely be top of the list.

It cut through pain and melted my soul and strengthened my spirit.

Thank you Lord for showing up this morning in such a mighty way. Thank you for seeing a need that I could not even see. Thank you for loving me so much. Thank you for being nothing like the religious dictator I knew you to be growing up. Thank you for showing me who you truly are and the type of relationship you seek to have with me and all of us. You are beyond amazing and your love is everything.

I don't know if there is someone else needing this, but I know I sure did.

I want to encourage you to listen to the words of this song and as you listen, remove any preconceived notions you have about religion and open yourself up to the opportunity for God to show you who He truly is.

I pray this song breaks through to the person who is struggling with life right now and not knowing where you belong or why you are even still here. God is pulling you to Him and all he wants is a deep relationship with you. Come to Him as you are, right where you are. Allow Him just a moment to wrap his arms tightly around you so you can feel the depth of His love for you. He is not asking you to be perfect. He is asking you to allow Him to perfect that which concerns you.
